UAE to apply new residence, entry visa fee from August 2014

UAE to apply new residence, entry visa fee from August 2014

MoI to announce new fee structure on its website in next few days

The General Directorates of Residency and Foreign Affairs at the Ministry of Interior has completed its technical and services preparations to ensure a flexible implementation of the new visa and fees system across the naturalization, residency and ports affairs sector.
The system will be effective August beginning, by virtue of the Cabinet`s resolution number 22 for the year 2014, regarding the organisation and development of the services at the MoI`s naturalization, residency and ports affairs sector.
Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, issued the ministerial decision number 377 for the year 2014, which amended the applicable regulations on foreigners’ entry and residence. The ministry has announced the promulgation of the new visa fees within the next few days on their website: http://moi.gov.ae.
Major-General Khalifa Hareb Al Khaili, Acting Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior for Naturalization, Residency and Ports Affairs, mentioned that the next stage will include the issuance of a new array of entry permits and visas, such as the multiple entry permits for visit or work; the activation of study visas, and entry permits for medical care and attending conferences.
“This comes in response to community members needs and supports various activities, in accordance with the Cabinet`s decision,” Maj-Gen Al Khaili explained.
He also said that the ministerial decision number 377 for the year 2014 coincides with the Cabinet`s decision. The approved amendments take into account the quality and development of services, in addition to meeting social requirements and activities in a way that supports various aspects of economic, touristic and social activities.
The new decision also focuses on violators, which is the key issue in the suggested amendments, as part of an integrated system, which ensures the field efficiency of executive authorities and customers’ satisfaction.

Where to go when you need a doctor after midnight in Dubai

For emergency cases, there are several options and the doors will never close. Think of a heart attack, a car crash, or a severe burn; there is no doctor that will show you the door.
But what if you have a minor problem big enough to keep you worried through the night?
Your child has a fever, you have an eye infection that does not let you sleep, or your sugar levels have gone up way too high. These are classified as non-emergency cases, but could still get treatment if finding the right place.
As every round-the-clock facility has its different specialists, it is important to know where to go when rushing out. The following are the healthcare facilities that can be attended 24/7, with the conditions explained.
Emergency care
Most prominent among the emergency services provided in the emirate are the government hospitals. All three hospitals –Rashid Hospital, Latifa Hospital and Dubai Hospital - have an emergency department. However, all have different specialisations, so it is important to know where to go before you leave home in a rush.
Rashid Hospital hosts the Trauma Center, and any ambulance rushing away from a traffic accident will probably bring the patient to this center. Cervical cases, or other medical cases are also treated here.
In Dubai Hospital, the emergency section specialises in ENT-related cases, ophthalmology, or urology, clarified the hospital. When a patient comes to Rashid Hospital with an eye problem, he will be sent to Dubai Hospital.
When having a pediatric emergency case, Latifa Hospital is the hospital to visit, just as it specialises in gynecology and obstetrics. Children up to 12 years old including medical and non-trauma cases, and women with acute pregnancy or gynecology-related problems will find in this hospital the right care.
There are two public health clinics that provide emergency care round-the clock: Nadd al Hamar and Barsha Clinic.
Emergency care in a private hospital works out a little different. In general, the department is run by an emergency doctor, who has access to several specialists if needed.
In Welcare, a patient coming in through the emergency section after midnight will be seen by a general practitioner, explains the hospital. If there is an urgent need for a specialist at that time an on-call doctor can be contacted and will rush to the hospital.
The same counts for American Hospital. “We do not have specialists after midnight, but we have an emergency doctor. He can provide treatment to a certain point, and if a specialist is needed (s)he will be contacted, explains the hospital.
Non-emergency care
Because the emergency section is one of the few places a patient can go after midnight, the department usually receives an abundance of non-emergent cases. Mostly, these cases can be addressed.
The general practitioner will mostly be able to attend minor cases. If a specialist is needed and the case is non-emergent, the patient might be asked to come back next day, explained American Hospital.
The government hospitals, too, do not find a problem in dealing with minor cases, but re-direct the patient to the walk-in clinic, for which a fee is charged.
Whereas emergency care is provided free, a referral to the walk-in clinic will be charged, explained the emergency contact line. A walk-in clinic is available round-the-clock at Rashid Hospital and Dubai Hospital.
If you do not feel comfortable with the idea of an emergency unit but do feel that you need medical attention, there are a couple of round-the clock walk-in clinics in town.
Dubai London Clinic provides primary care at all times in its 24/7 walk-in clinic and says to be competently equipped to treat chronic ailments as well as conditions that need immediate attention. Among the cases treated here are ENT problems, allergies, common internal conditions, minor wounds, or upon request vaccinations and pregnancy tests.
Similar to this clinic is the walk-in clinic of Emirates Hospital, which receives patients round-the-clock. “We do not have an emergency section, but we do receive patients for minor cases 24/7. If a specialist is needed, we will send the patient to a hospital, explained the clin

Military officers walk past the remains of a car after an explosion on July 23, 2014 in Kaduna, north of NigeriaBoko Haram Islamists have executed 12 people including a village chief in a remote part of Borno state, residents said Saturday.
The attackers entered the village of Garubula, in Biu district, Borno state late Wednesday and dragged their victims out of their homes before shooting them, the residents said.
“They killed 12 people including the village chief whom they shot in the head,” said resident Mallam Idrissa told AFP.
Wednesday also saw bombings in north-central Kaduna blamed on Boko Haram in which 42 people died while the presumed targets of the attacks — a prominent cleric and a former head of state — escaped with their lives.
Boko Haram, which is seeking to install an extremist Islamic state in Nigeria, has recently stepped up attacks on remote villages in the northeast.
Dozens of Boko Haram gunmen raided the town of Rann in Borno state on the border with Cameroon on Friday, meeting fierce resistance, residents said.
Before beating a retreat, the insurgents hurled explosives into the police station, setting it ablaze, and bombed a local administrative building and a government lodge, they said, adding that no casualties were recorded.
“They came into town around 6:00 pm and made straight for the police station where they opened fire and the police responded, resulting in a shootout that lasted for one hour,” resident Bunu Faltaye told AFP.
Another resident, Abdullahi Brema, gave a similar account of the clash.
Then early Saturday the attackers went to Sigal village seven kilometres (four miles) away and abducted a police officer from his house, said Timothy Musa, another resident.
“We have no idea where they are holding him and we fear for his life,” Musa said.
An army spokesman meanwhile said the security forces fear that Boko Haram has “perfected plans to launch multiple bomb explosions in Maiduguri” — the biggest city in the northeastern region and Boko Haram’s spiritual home — to coincide with celebrations of the end of Ramadan early next week.
As a result, authorities have declared a three-day ban on “all vehicular movement” in the city from Monday, Mohammed Dole said in a statement.

THE MURDER OF MOHAMMED TOBI BADMUS: HOW HE WAS TORTURED TO DEATH
By Ogunleye Rotimi Williams .

Monday, 21st of July, 2014, Mohammed Oluwatobi Badmus, the son of Raheem Akinfolayemi Badmus was filled with life and expectations. Like every other young boy, he was up and down getting on with the tasks of the day. Those tasks that would meet his exuberances and earn him the fulfilment of the day. Certainly, death was not one of the tasks; not cheap death from the supposed law enforcement agents who were reported to have tortured him with large dose of chemical substance, which he inhaled and later passed out at a popular hospital, around Lafe Junction Area in Akure.

According to Oluwaseun Badmus, the elder sister,Tobi was alleged to have stolen a Nokia phone from a nearby church within their neighbourhood by one Prophet Bisi." Prophet Bisi called me and said Tobi stole a Nokia phone from his church. When I heard about the allegation, I called Tobi on his mobile line and demanded he comes to the church to meet us. He volunteered he would join us.

"But Prophet Bisi was impatient, he demanded we go meet him. I accepted and joined him in his car to drive to Tobi. Before we got to Tobi, we met his uncle, Mr Sola Oke who brought out the phone, immediately prophet Bisi claimed it was the missing Nokia phone. Shortly, Tobi arrived but said the phone was not a stolen phone and could not have been the one missing.

"At that point, Tobi said since the matter has been reported to the police, he would want the matter resolved at the police station. And off they drove to the Oke Aro B division police station"

Speaking further, Sola said she later saw three police officers< Mr Ade Awodeyi and two others, who were holding discussions with prophet Bisi and that though she didn't know the content of their discussion but heard from one of the police officers at departure that the boy be taken to "BAPTISMAL ROOM" where he would be tortured believing that he would confess to the allegation. .

"I eavesdropped on the last discursion between Prophet Bisi and the three other police officers that my brother be taken to the Baptismal Room where he would be tortured. At this time, I never knew the case was not even indented or recorded, Shortly after the order, I saw my brother dragged out of the station handcuffed with his hands firmly twisted and rested at his back. He was taken away to the Baptismal room located near the station.

"About thirty minutes later, my brother, Mr Ade Awodeyi and the other colleague with whom he carried out the order, emerged piloting my brother;
his eyes swollen and blurred and couldn't stand on his legs. Instead of taking him back to the station, they handed him over to us and directed we go home. we all drove in Prophet Bisi's car back home.

"Immediately he departed, the boy's condition got worst. He held his stomach and started vomiting. We called Prophet Bisi who pleaded we take him to the hospital and that he would join us there. We thought we could access health services in the state specialist hospital but later drove to Liberty Hospital, Oluwatuyi qrts. The doctor expressed their inability to attend to him and at that point we took him to our family hospital who later referred us to Hope land hospital where Tobi later passed out.

"We were told he inhaled a thick dose of canisters substance and that it damaged her brain and caused a serious disorder to his body system. The remains of the boy was released to the us, Prophet Bisi, myself and my uncle. It was deposited in the mog around 9.30pm or thereabout same day", Seun said.

Couple had sex on a police car ! say they didn’t notice the two cops sitting in the car

On a police car

For some people having sex in public just isn’t daring enough and they must take it that extra mile by, for instance, having sex on a police car. But not just any old cop car - one that has bobbies in it.
A randy Dutch couple – known for their clogs and proclivity to fornicate in full view of emergency service personnel - decided the bonnet was the place to bonk and say they didn’t notice the two cops sitting in the car (eating donuts and watching, no doubt).
The police got out of their car and politely asked the couple to stop and go somewhere else, as the law doesn't specifically prohibit people from having sex on top of a cop car but does state that police officers need to be available for duty

According to witnesses at his 2006 trial in Oklahoma, he used the sex aid when cases were either incredibly boring or really sexy – you know how it is with murder trials. He was banged up for four years and disbarred.

Unbelievable but true ! River turns blood RED overnight !

River turns blood RED overnight in mystery baffling entire Chinese city

Locals living next to the waterway in Wenzhou all their lives say it has never happened before and industrial contamination has been ruled out

A city woke up this morning to find its river running blood red... and no-one knows why.
Locals say at 4am the water flow was normal but by 6am it had turned a frightening shade of crimson.
An elderly resident who has lived by the river all his life says it has never happened before.
Industrial contamination has been ruled out because there are no chemical plants along it length.
Now environment protection officials in the Chinese city of Wenzhou are taking water samples to find out what is going on.
Wenzhou is a well-known town in East China's Zhejiang Province.
The place is surrounded by mountains on three sides with the front of the city facing the Pacific ocean.
The phenomenon echoes a similar incident in 2012 when the Yangtze River in China also changed colour.
Officials claimed the blood-red waters were a result of sand distribution due to upstream flooding but sceptics were not convinced and social media sites were full of bizarre theories including one that it was the start of The Apocalypse.
