My detractors have failed- Aregbesola
Governor of the state
of Osun Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has described attempt by his political rivals to
malign his personality and character as a failed plot which has rather boosted people’s
passion for his administrative style in the state
Ogbeni Aregbesola while responding to question from
journalists during an interactive session
tagged “ Ogbeni Till day Break” held at Osogbo recently recounts that his
detractors has since he became the governor of the state spreading unfounded
rumours about him
all because they want to dent our integrity.
He said further that, “ i am not a controversial person which they tried to label me, i am a goal getter but i am not controversial,
most of the issue related to me or my government are only being seen on the
pages of the newspaper or on the internet
and whenever i read or see such i just
laugh over it because it is not true, there is truth in those negative information you are hearing about me” he emphasized
Ogbeni Aregbesola also disclosed that the concept of
Omoluabi has been his guiding principle and he has never for once renege from
operating through the concept which he claims has been helping him in life. “i
built my life round this concept
and it has been helping me and i will never stop being an omoluabi.”
While debunking the
rumours that he once slap his
deputy, Otunba Titi Laoye Tomori, Ogbeni
Aregbesola said “ it is only an insane
man that will do that, apart from the fact that she is a woman and a loyal deputy who deserve to be respected
in ramification, she is also older than
me in age, so it is an act of insanity even to disrespect her let alone slapping her which i never did”
Confirming the story “
the Deputy governor Otunba Tomori said such never happened and that there had never been a rancour between her and his boss whom she described as “ Omoluabi Ponbele”
.
According to her, “ i was in London for the first official leave i will ever
take since i became the deputy governor when i received a call that i should
confirmed a story that i was slapped by my boss during an argument and i
rushed down to Nigeria the following day to asked my oga what happened only to discovered it was all attempt to
smear my boss name, i want to let you all know that we have been working together harmoniously
without any rancour and he is a good friendly and loyal boss.

While denying the allegation that he uses political thugs as
private security so as to be able to monitor activities going on everywhere in
the state, the governor said, it is a blatant lie, “ is it possible to
bypass all the security agencies and engages the service of thugs what of the risk, i don’t do such , the federal security
arrangement is intact and they are monitoring all that we are doing to ensure we don’t go against the law, i am a
law abiding citizen, i can’t do anything
that is against the law of our land”.

He however cautions the opposition against discrediting
personalities in position of authority with fake information’s and rumours in other to score cheap political point.
