Super Eagles midfielder John Obi Mikel is facing massive scruntiny after being accused of assaulting an Abuja KISS FM journalist, who asked for an interview.
The story was first brought to light by BBC journalist Oluwashina Okeleji, who tweeted about the incident.
According to Metro UK, Mikel was leaving a training session with the team when the reporter approached him to talk about Nigeria's upcoming matches. Mikel is said to have become irritated, and lashed out.
This is the second reported incident involving Mikel and members of the press this week. Earlier in the week, sports journalist Colin Udoh alleged that Mikel verbally assaulted him on a plane, following the Eagles' poorly-played match in Khartoum last Saturday.
In that incident, Mikel was said to have unleashed a "vitriolic assault" on a "former captain of the team" and had a "few choice words" for others.
