Herbalist slaughters female undergraduate in Ogun

An herbalist, identified as Femi Awise, has slaughtered a 21-year-old female student of Gateway ICT Polytechnic, Remo North Local Government Area of Ogun State, Miss Morenikeji Owolabi.
The incident, Tribune Online learnt, occurred in Eposo-Akaka in Isara-Remo. The herbalist is currently on the run.
It was gathered that the victim, an indigene of Ekiti State, was lured to a shrine by the herbalist‎ who eventually murdered her. The lady had been declared missing since June 7.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mr.Valentine Ntomchukwu, led newsmen to the scene of the crime where body parts of the female student were found‎.
It was indeed a gory sight ‎as cooked human flesh believed to be that of the victim was found in an iron pot.
Also,the legs of Owolabi were found buried in a shallow grave some few metres from the shrine made of corrugated iron sheets‎, with many fetish objects scattered around the place.
Ntomchukwu told journalists that investigation on the act had begun and that five suspects had been arrested in connection with the incident.
Those arrested included one Adeyemi Ademolu‎, a motorcyclist who carried the victim to the shrine and Omolaso Taiwo, an apprentice to Awise; Lateef Ali, Akinyemi Dare, and Sokoya Wasiu.
The motorcyclist, who spoke on the incident, said the lady spoke on the phone with the herbalist twice on how to get to the shrine while he was carrying her to the place.
‎The CP said the shrine was discovered through discreet investigation by his men.
He said, "We were able to locate the shrine through a discreet investigation by our men. We were able to track the okada rider that took her on her motorcycle to the shrine.
"Five suspects have been arrested and investigation has commenced, we will leave no unturned to get the other fleeing suspects."
