Texas witch doctor
BY EMMANUEL ADEKOLA, CRIME REPORTER, TEXAS

CHRISTOPHER Omigie is a-58year old Nigerian born naturalized American who lived life on the fast lane, driving state of the art automobiles, drinking choicest wines and holidaying in 5 star hotels across the Caribbean at the slightest opportunity. He’s married but had ladies flock around him due to the way he spends money as if it is going out of circulation whenever he decides to go night-clubbing. As said in African proverbs “lies may run for 20 years, only a day, the truth will expose all that has been hidden in darkness”. Truth has finally revealed that Omigie had all along been involved in drug trafficking violations by offering voodoo services to Texas drug kingpins for monetary gifts.

Naija Standard observed from federal authorities that Omigie claimed to be a witch doctor with supernatural powers who could protect drug dealers from law enforcement with magic powder, candles and rocks. His lies crumbled when he was not able to protect himself from federal agents.
This naturalized native of Lafayette, LA, was sentenced recently in Beaumont to 14 years in federal prison for drug trafficking violations, according to the U.S. attorney for the Eastern District of Texas.
Omigie, a native of Nigeria who is a U.S. citizen, told drug traffickers he was a witch doctor who could help them avoid the law.
Drug traffickers in the Cesar Barrera and David Bazan drug trafficking organizations in East Texas consulted Omigie daily — before, during and after each drug deal. They paid him hundreds of thousands of dollars for his services.
Those services included card readings and massages he gave them with magic ointments. He also cut their skin with razor blades and applied magic powder.
Omigie’s other treatments included magic amulets, magic belts, magic coconuts and magic rocks that drug dealers were required to talk to.
According to federal authorities Omigie lied to them by saying they should “go without bathing and intercourse for a period of time following magic treatments so as not to diminish the potency of those ministrations.”
In addition, magic “law stay away” candles were burned so the drug traffickers could avoid detection.
Omigie regularly returned to Africa, courtesy of his drug dealer employers, “to re-new his supernatural powers,” authorities said.
He was indicted by a federal grand jury in 2013. He pleaded guilty in October 2014 to conspiracy to distribute cocaine.
Cesar Barrera and David Bazan each pleaded guilty to taking part in drug operations involving more than 1,000 kilograms of cocaine, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
