A man, Mallam Audu Mohammed, has disclosed that while he was happy over the victory of Gen.eral Muhammadu Buhari in the March 28 presidential election, he was nevertheless saddened by the death of his 32-year-old son, Muhammadu Audu.
According to Mohammed, his son, along with two of his friends, were involved in a ghastly accident, which claimed their lives as they were celebrating Buhari’s victory in Maiduguri, the Borno State capital ,on Thursday.
“I received a phone call from a good Samaritan, who picked a phone belonging to my son, and told me that the owner of the phone had an accident while riding in a Keke Napep and that the three of them in the tricycle had been rushed to the hospital.
“I thought he was still alive, but when I got to the hospital, they took me to the emergency ward where I saw many other young men who were wounded as well.
“But Muhammadu, alongside his two friends, were said to have been taken to the morgue having been certified dead by the doctors. And there I found him,” Audu said, trying to fight back tears.
