•President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari (right) with former President Olusegun Obasanjo during their meeting this morningPresident-elect, retired Major General Muhammadu Buhari appeared in Lagos today to add pep to the governorship campaign of the All Progressives Congress, declaring that Lagos is too cherished by his party to be lost to the opposition Peoples Democratic Party.
Buhari who had earlier in the day visited former president Olusegun Obasanjo  warned Lagos residents not to be on the wrong side of the centre, stressing that since the All Progressives Congress, APC, has won power at the centre, it behoves on them to vote for the party so that Lagos can continue to do well.
Buhari, who gave this warning at a mega rally held at Coker Orile,  on Tuesday, appealed to Lagosians to vote en masse for the APC on Saturday because Lagos is too important to be left on the wrong side of the centre. Coker Orile is thickly populated by Igbo Lagosians and it is likely that the rally was held there to swing  Igbo sentiments to the APC candidate, Akin Ambode.

“Vote for APC candidates on Saturday. Ensure you vote APC. Lagos is doing well and we are now at the centre. I have a lot of respect for Fashola because he is hardworking and committed to the state. No doubt, Lagos is a mini-Nigeria. I want you to vote for continuity in Lagos.
“Tell your neighbours, tell everyone to bury the hatchet and vote for APC,” he stated.
The President elect, told the audience that Lagos is too important to be lost by the All Progressives Congress, promising also to refund the N51billion that the Federal Government is owing the Lagos State government over road repairs.
After his speech, he presented the Lagos APC governorship candidate, Akinwunmi Ambode, to the crowd by raising his hand.
Before arriving at the rally, Buhari had a meting  at the Lagos House in Marina Governor Babatunde Fashola and Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
On Buhari’s entourage were Governor Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State, National Chairman of the APC, Chief John Odigie Oyegun and Senator Chris Ngige.
Earlier, the National Leader of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu had appealed to the APC supporters not to heed the promises made by chieftains of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Lagos calling them liars.
He enjoined them to vote for APC candidates on Saturday.
