Goat wins court case in Australia

A goat has been cleared of vandalism.

Gary the goat has had his court case dismissed in Australia after a judge ruled neither the four-legged animal, who had been pulled up for allegedly eating flowers outside Sydney's Museum of Contemporary Art, nor his owner Jim Dezarnaulds could be held accountable for the crime.

However, Jim was still ordered to pay AU$440 because of Gary's actions, but there wasn't enough evidence to say the animal – who had his own lawyer – was taken to the site to deliberately eat the flowers.

Jim explained: "I’m a comedian, I can come up with jokes, but it’s pretty hard to compete with cops coming up with this stuff.

"It’s obviously a joke, but the fact that we’re here it’s gone a bit beyond a joke."
