He was granted bail in the sum of N8 million with two sureties, preferrably civil servants above Grade Level 14
It will be recalled that Aminu was arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) operatives at the Mallam Aminu Kano International Airport on December 11, 2012, when he attempted to transport $50,000 out of the country, having declared only $10,000 to the Nigerian Customs Service.
After considering the bail application, as sought for by his counsel, Mr Felix Osimerha, the presiding judge, Justice Fatu Riman, in his ruling, said apart from the fact that the alleged offence was bailable, the accused had initially been granted administrative bail by the EFCC on December 13.
Justice Riman said the accused did not jump bail and had been reporting to the EFCC whenever he was requested to do so, adding, however, that the accused only failed to appear in court on January 19 due to his ill health.
He, thereafter, adjourned hearing till March 18 an
