Police have found the mother of a 2-day-old baby rescued from a sewer pipe in an apartment building in China.

As reported, the boy was saved and transported to a hospital, where he was treated for scratches and cuts.

Baby No. 59, as medical staff are calling him based on his current incubator number, is stable. The 22-year-old mother, who remains unnamed by national media, gave birth to the child in a squat toilet in the building.

She works as a waitress in Jinhua, Zhejiang province and rents an apartment in the complex. She has tried to discard of the child in a bit to keep the pregnancy a secret. The baby's placenta was still attached when he was found.

She only met the father once and could not get his support in keeping the child. According to the AP, she resorted to disposing of her son because she could not afford getting an abortion.
