The Owatapa, Oba David Makanjuola Ajaja, who bestowed the title on Chief Runsewe at his first anniversary ceremony held in Itapa on Saturday declared that “I thank God and the people of Itapa Kingdom for the popular selection of Chief Runsewe as the Akorewolu and his amiable wife as the Yeye Owatapa of Itapa kingdom.
“Apart from working directly under the brand new Akorewolu before my ascension, I can testify to the immense capacity and ability of this rare Nigerian at bringing and evolving concepts, ideas which are capable of not generating money but stimulating development. He is a true harbinger of hope and development.
We certainly need such manner of men in partnership for the development of this kingdom,” the Oba said. Otunba Runsewe who responded to Owatapa’s speech congratulated the kingdom for having one of the best brains in administration as their king.
“Apart from thanking the good people of this kingdom for the honour bestowed on me and my wife, I am aso congratulating you for having one of the best brains in administration as your king. “Kabiyesi worked with me and I can attest to his high sense of responsibility, untainted integrity, sharp and witty minded and has a quick ability to proffer solutions to knotty issues. He was one of our best staff who are trust worthy, honest and sincerely committed to the vision of the corporation. This kingdom is not only lucky, but has found the favour of God in making him the king. And with the power of Almighty and support of good people in Nigeria, we promise to do whatever he and you people of Itapa kingdom think is necessary to do for the upliftment of the kingdom,” Runsewe promised.
