Rapist who sexually assaulted Shetland pony jailed again for possessing videos of animal sex

A convicted rapist who sexually assaulted a Shetland pony has been caught with more disturbing images depicting sex with animals - including a Great Dane.
Sick Alan Barnfield, who raped a 16-year-old girl in 2001, was also found to have a porn film on his computer with chilling similarities to his own crime.
The 45-year-old was jailed for a further seven years this week after admitting possession of the indecent images.
Police raided Barnfield's flat in Doncaster after reports he was seen having sex with a pony.
Officers discovered more than 47,000 indecent images and 1,400 pornographic videos on an external hard drive at the property in Hexthorpe Lane.
Most were legal but a number of the 'more serious' images and videos included people engaging in sexual activity with a Great Dane and horses.
Police also found a 'snuff video' depicting a violent rape and murder of a young woman who is strangled.
The film was described as 'deeply disturbing' by Judge Peter Kelson QC because of its similarities to the rape Barnfield carried out, which also involved strangulation.
Sentencing him at Sheffield Crown Court yesterday, Judge Kelson QC said: “The video is deeply disturbing because it echoes the rape you committed.
“It is extremely unsettling that you are still getting sexual gratification from a video so similar to the crime you committed.
“I cannot regard you as anything other than dangerous.
“By filling your mind with these images, you will seek to act them out once again.”
Barnfield changed his pleas mid-way through his latest trial and admitted possessing ‘deeply disturbing’ pornographic material relating to children and animals.
His guilty pleas related to three charges of possessing videos and images – including the film depicting a young woman’s violent rape and murder.
He had previously admitted three further charges in November 2013.
He was cleared of having full-on sex with the pony, named Sky, but was found guilty of outraging public decency by a jury in January and is currently serving a two-year prison sentence.
In addition to his jail time, Barnfield was also given a sexual harm prevention order and will not be allowed to use the internet unless his browser history is made available to a police officer.
He is also prevented from having any contact with any child under the age of 16.
