In a reaction to the reappointment, Mr Wale Ojo Lanre, the President of The Guild of Tourists Journalists of Nigeria in a statement to the press commended President Goodluck Jonathan for re – appointing Mr. Kennedy  Okpara who has been doing well and properly re – engineering the Commission for efficiency , relevance and visibility
He pointed out that Okpara re appointment would engender the continuity of the novel ideas and programmes which he has planted and commenced execution during his first tenure and would give him enough time to complete the implementation of his lofty schemes at the Commission
“ This is what we stand for in the sector . We will not shy away from commending any good step taken by the President in relation to the sector and development. Without any bias and subjective inclination, the president has done well by affirming and confirming Mr. Okpara who has conscientiously worked out his heart at the Commission with his best ability and patriotic zeal which earned him a second tenure”.
Recalling how Mr. Kennedy Okpara transformed the almost moribund agency of the Federal government to an enviable status during his first tenure , he pointed out “ we never expected that the young man will go thus far , making the nation proud and respected even at the Vatican where he was blessed by the Pope for doing Nigeria proud “
The association however tasked Mr. Okpara “ not to rest on his oars as any attempt for you to think you are already there now may inject into your body system intellectual and administrative complacency which may diminish and reduce the ground covered to nil “
