Today it was announced that Burger King had added a brand new burger to their menu in Japan; The Premium Kuro Burger, a completely black burger, with complimentary charcoal cheese and a sumptuous squid-ink sauce. Is this the most bizarre burger creation yet? We'll let you decide....
1. The 50 Oz burger
Chef Russell Tisbury, from the Temple Bar in Brighton, East Sussex, launched a gigantic burger earlier this year to raise money for charity. The huge burger costs £35, is 30cm in diameter - more than 12 times the size of a standard patty - and comes with 1 lb of cheese, as well as a 1 lb side order of fries. Hungry customers who manage to defeat this 50 oz beast burger, win a T-shirt and have their photo displayed on the wall.
2. Pigeon and worm burger
Not for everyone: worm burgers (REX)
For the more intrepid diner, chef Rentokil unveiled a 'Pop-Up Restaurant' in London last year, which served an array of exotic cuisine. Among a range of edible insects, sweet chilli pigeon burgers were also on the menu, garnished with cheddar cheese infused meal worms.
3. Donut burger sliders
Is it sweet, or is it savoury? At The Original, a diner in Portland, bite-size donut burgers are served during happy hour. The house made 'nuts' are split in half to house a mini beef patty, cheddar cheese and house aïoli.
4. The Bogan burger
A few years ago in Australia, The Fitzroy Pub's gigantic Bogan Burger was made so big, that it was featured on the Tourism Victoria website, alongside natural wonders of the world. The $15.50 burger's Turkish bread roll is adorned with an entire steak, a chicken schnitzel, a potato cake, lashings of bacon, an egg, melted cheese, onion, pineapple and beetroot.
5. Burger cupcakes
If your taste is more sweet than savoury, then why not enjoy your burger in novelty cupcake form. Sainsbury's have an excellent cheeseburger cupcake recipe, perfect for those who have a sweet tooth.
6. The spaghetti burger
PYT in Philadelphia claim to be the 'Home of America's Craaaziest Burgers'. One of their creations is the Italian-inspired spaghetti burger, where buns are made from pasta, rather than bread. The noodles are constructed into a bunlike form and hold a mozzarella-stuffed meatball patty, garnished with red sauce and Parmesan flakes.
7. Burger-flavoured ice cream

Burger ice cream, anyone? (REX)
To mark National Burger day on Aug 27 2013, Sorbitium Ices created an innovative barbecue burger-flavoured ice cream. Strawberry sauce was substituted for tomato ketchup and instead of sprinkles, guests at the burger event in Dalston Yard enjoyed toppings of candied bacon and dill gherkin ripple.
8. The world’s biggest
The world's biggest cheeseburger was recorded in Minnesota in 2012, containing 4.1 million calories and weighing in at an enormous one tonne. It took about four hours to cook the mammoth patty and a crane was called in to flip it. What's more, the burger was garnished with 60 lb of bacon, 50 lb of lettuce, 50 lb of sliced onions, 40 lb of pickles and 40 lb of cheese.
9. The Fattymelt
The 'Fattymelt' originates from the Mossy Creek Cafe in Fisherville, Virginia, where you can enjoy your meat between two grilled cheese sandwiches. One to try at home with the toastie maker, perhaps?
10. Deep fried peanut butter and jelly burger
In January of this year, PYT in Philadelphia's 'burger of the week' was a Peanut Butter and Jelly Burger. A sweet and savoury hybrid, the buns were formed of deep fried, kettle-chip-coated PB&J sandwiches, housing a banana-sriacha marinated beef patty and applewood bacon.
