EKITI IMMUNISES OVER 17,OOO CHILDREN AGAINST KILLER DISEASES.

Over 17,000 children have been immunized in Ekiti State against childhood killer diseases including polio, measles, tuberculosis, tetanus and Hepatitis B.

The Permanent Secretary of the Primary Health Care Development
Agency, Mrs. Folakemi Falore who made this known in Ado Ekiti attributed the success recorded to the decentralization of the immunization centres across the 16 Local Government Areas of the State.

According to her, all children in the state are adequately protected from killer diseases noting that the state has not recorded any polio case in the last 16 years.

She however urged parents to continually take advantage of government’s good gesture of providing the vaccines and ensure that their children complete their respective doses. Mrs. Falore emphasized that complete dose of the vaccine would boost immunity and ensure that each beneficiary is free of the killer diseases.

Expressing gratitude to various development partners of the state for their support at ensuring the eradication of childhood killer diseases and guaranteeing a healthy environment for children, Mrs. Falore also described the commitment of the Fayemi led administration at boosting the health sector as laudable and worthy of emulation.
