Two
middle aged men died yesterday in Akure the ondo state capital thursday as motorcycle popularly
known as Okada was crushed by a lorry
loaded with sand
The incident which
happened at about 5;30 around
Araomi area in Akure saw the two of the three
middle aged men on the motorcycle given
up the ghost immediately while the other
passenger on the Okada who was injured was taken to an undisclosed hospital
An eye witness who
spoke with Alarinka revealed that the Okada rider who was on a top speed colluded with the lorry while trying to escape being hit by a car. Adding that the
lorry who was also on a top speed crushes head of the two people died instantly
while the driver of the lorry took to his heels to escape been lynched by people around.
The witness informed
that”it was a gory site as the brains of one of the victim spitted on the road
while blood was all over the second victim who also died on the spot , the
third person on the okada also has
serious injury”
The only survivors
while speaking with Alarinka said “
we are coming from our work place( undisclosed) and my friend asked me to
escort him to the market to buy some things for his wife who delivered a baby boy few days ago”.
Some of the sympathizers at the scene urged the state government to restrict the
speed limit of Okada riders within the major towns and cities in the state as
the rate of Okada accident is on the high side.
The corpse of the
victim were taken to an undisclosed morgue
by the officers of the road safety corpse.
