Bride saves wedding guest who collapsed at reception with the kiss of wife

A bride who locked lips with a wedding guest instead of the groom told yesterday how she saved his life.
Newlywed Kylie Cox was still in her wedding dress when a 28-year-old friend she was dancing with in front of 160 family and friends at the reception keeled over.
Using mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, Kylie, 24, managed to keep the man alive with the help of a bridesmaid and her uncle until paramedics arrived.
She and shocked groom Russell Cox, 24, then abandoned the bash and went straight to the hospital where their friend was being treated.
Kylie, a staff nurse, said: “Our friend asked me for a dance, but while we were on the dance floor, he complained of feeling faint.
“I turned round to get him a chair and he collapsed. I rushed over and gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.
"A bridesmaid, who is also a nurse, did the same and my uncle and another guest joined in to give him chest compression until the ambulance arrived.
“Then me and Russell spent the first night of our marriage at the hospital, because we didn’t know whether our friend was going to live or die.”
Kylie added: “The doctors told us it was a miracle he survived.
"He only had one drink all day as he was driving. He’s still in hospital, but he’s going to make a full recovery.
“The party was due to go on till late, but when me and Russell left at 8.30pm, my dad sent everybody home as he thought our friend was going to die.”
Kylie and builder Russell held the wedding ceremony and party at the cliff-top Carlyon Bay Hotel, in St Austell, Cornwall.
Now the lovebirds, from Par, Cornwall, want to stage a repeat reception for their family and friends.
