Girl, 13, Raped By Dad, Friend For 7 Years

A 13-year old girl has narrated how her father, Stephen Chimaraobi, and his friend, Paul Oha, raped her continually for seven years in their Ojodu home in Lagos State.
Following her revelation, the police at the Grammar School Division, Ojodu, arrested both the man and his friend.
Chimaraobi, a native of Delta State, has remained single after his wife left him, while Oha, who hails from Mbaise, Imo State, is married and has two kids.
The victim revealed that her father,42, and his friend started defiling her when she was six years old and continued, until she became 13. Both men were unaware that she had reported the matter to the police.
The traumatised victim told the police that her mother left her in the care of her father at their home in Yetunde Morgan Estate, Ojodu, when she was six years old. Chimaraobi did not re-marry after his wife left him and according to his daughter, he took advantage of her mother’s absence to rape her repeatedly.
The teenager said she was helpless at first, because her father warned her not to tell anyone, otherwise he would kill her.
She revealed that while her father was defiling her, his friend, Oha, who lives with his family in the same estate, joined in sexually assaulting her.
She told the police that Oha would come to their house at odd times, when her father was at work, to have sex with her. After he was done, he would warn her not to tell anyone about it, including her father.
“But he did not know that my father was also abusing me,” she told the police.
The victim, who has started learning hair-dressing, said that she went to the police to report the matter when the trauma became unbearable.
At the station where the suspects were detained, the Divisional Police Officer, District Police Officer Uduak Udoh said that the victim came to the station to report that her father and his friend abused her.
The two men were charged with defilement and rape at the Family Court in Ikeja, yesterday. The matter was adjourned till November 6. Meanwhile, both suspects have been remanded at the Kirikiri Maximum Prisons, in Lagos.
