Oyo APC Chair lauds party legislators, calls purported impeachment plot PDP hoax

The Chairman, All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, has described the 18 member-APC caucus in the State House of Assembly as a team of principled politicians, reliable party ambassadors and responsible representatives of the people.

Chief Oke's remarks were contained in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan today.

The APC Chairman said the report of the purported impeachment move by the lawmakers was one of the antics of the PDP to set the state on edge and return Oyo State to what he called its "eight years PDP reign where life was nasty, brutish and short." According to the APC boss, the lawmakers who are members of the party representing various constituencies in the State House of Assembly have proved to the world that they are indeed working for the people by rising in unison to discredit a sponsored story published by a national daily earlier in the week where it was reported that six unidentified members of the caucus were part of a meeting purportedly held with their colleagues in the opposition PDP and Accord Party at an undisclosed location in Ibadan recently ostensibly to forge an alliance against the APC and Governor Abiola Ajimobi in the build up to 2015 general elections.

"With their prompt condemnation of the said report, members of the APC caucus in the State House of Assembly have made a loud monumental statement. Whatever it was that the sponsors of the malicious report intended has been defeated. Like many others before it, the evil plot of some unscrupulous elements in the opposition parties have fallen like a pack of cards.

"Pointedly, our State Assembly lawmakers have demonstrated once again that they are one virile caucus made up of men and women of virtue who would never trade away their integrity and love for the common man like it is being recorded in some States across the country." Oke stated.

The party boss however called on the lawmakers, other APC members, as well as the entire people of the State to be wary of the antics of those he described as desperate mandate hijackers who are out to return the pacesetter state to the years of locusts for their selfish reasons.
