Ondo state has been described as one of the
state with best facility for medical tourism in the world.
This is
the submission of some leading tour operators in Nigeria under the aegis of
National Association of Nigeria Tour Operator who embarked on a two day tour
of in Ondo .
The team
whIch visited various attraction sites in Ondo state express delight in the
facilities put in place by Ondo state government under the leadership of
Governor Olusegun Mimiko describing it as innovating concepts that will enhance
patronage of domestic tourism in the state.
Mr Jemi
Alade one of the founding father of NATOP who lead the team to while speaking
with Alarinka said “ i have been packaging tours
to Ondo state for some years now
but with my coming today i am seeing a new Ondo, a new Idanre and it is awesome , we have a fascinating
experience in Ondo State, we observed
that the state is blessed with fantastic
potentials virtually all the component of tourism and with the
structure and facilities that is been put in place by the state government, we have no doubt
that Ondo state is the next tourism
destination in Nigeria.
Mr
Alade said further that “ i was marvel at what i saw as an experienced tour operators, the mega schools concept in unique, the Abiye hospital the modern market structure and every other things put
in place are are fantastic and most importantly the Medical tourism in Ondo town." The that facilities can compete with anywhere in the world, most of
what they have in India a and other developed world are in the
hospital and i want to assure you
from now on we will start marketing it to
the rest of the world" Nigerians dont need to go abroad for medical treatment everything is here in Ondo "he said,

Another
tour operator Mr Victor Enwezor of Lesiure Afrique submit that Governor
Olusegun Mimiko is putting the state on a speed length by trying to replicate
what he has done in other sector in tourism
sector too, this will give tourism a face lift and make Ondo state a next
destinations for both local and foreign
tourist
While
commending the governor for the resuscitation of the golf course and the Iroko
mountain resort, the medical tourism in Ondo and other attractions ,Mr Enwezor
advocates the need to have affordable
hotels for people especially local tourist who want to visit
the place for leisure or conferences,
The
Special Adviser to the governor on culture and tourism , Dr Wanle Akinboboye
while addressing the team during a gala night held at Adegbemile hall Akure
said, Ondo state government is putting
in a befitting and sustainable tourism sector as a legacies that will last
forever and there is need to have
stakeholders especially the NATOP and
others as partners in progress for the giant strides with a maximum benefits.
The Atunda entertainment group and Ondo state cultural troupe entertain guests with melodies and local music .
