THE
Emir of Bauchi, Alhaji Rilwanu Suleiman Adamu has called for a
sustained cultural- tourism integration of all the ethnic nationalities
in Nigeria as a means of oiling national unity and understanding
The Emir who made this appeal while receiving the ambassador of the Alaafin of Oyo, Chief Ayanlakin Ayandotun, in his palace in Bauchi pointed out that “A deliberate and systematic oiling of the cultural – tourism assets of this nation will go a long way in creating room for mutual appreciation and understanding of each other’s values, feelings and perception without prejudice to religion. This will help the country to achieve national integration on a grand scale and go a long way in cementing brotherly love, peace and mutual understanding and respect among all the ethnic nationalities in Nigeria.”
He pointed out that “By so doing, every Nigerian will not only maintain peace in his state or community, but will constantly seek peace in other states because of the realisation that peace for one is peace for all.”
Alhaji Adamu further said that “Nigeria is blessed with multi cultural – tourism assets which could be used not only to facilitate and lubricate the chord of brotherhood and unity, but advance the economy of our people and promote commercial affection.”
The Emir who lauded the Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi, for his untiring efforts at promoting the cultural assets of the Yoruba said “My special commendation goes to His Royal Majesty, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, the Alaafin of Oyo for his solid belief in the traditional values of his people and for his untiring promotion of such in a way of creating respect and cultivating love for the Yoruba culture.”
