A
26-year Beitbridge man allegedly sneaked into his neighbour's bedroom
and had sex with his wife after pretending to be the husband.
Matabeleland South police spokesperson Inspector Philisani Ndebele
confirmed the incident, which occurred on Friday. Insp Ndebele said
Clement Ndou from Togwe area under headman Foromera, visited his
neighbour's wife at about 8pm and pretended to be her husband before
having sex with her once. "At about 8pm on Friday, Ndou proceeded to his
neighbour's homestead while her husband was out for a beer drink. He
knocked on his neighbour's bedroom hut and the woman, who had gone to
bed, unlocked the door assuming that it was her husband," said Insp
Ndebele. "After unlocking the door, she immediately went back to bed and
Ndou joined her in bed.
Still assuming that the man was her husband, the woman had sex with
Ndou once before he went outside." Insp Ndebele said after the
encounter, Ndou immediately went outside. "She was surprised why the man
went outside and decided to follow him, only to realise that it was
their neighbour. "The matter was reported to the police, leading to
Ndou's arrest. Investigations are still underway, said Insp Ndebele. He
urged members of the public, especially men to desist from abusing women
and girls, saying police will not hesitate to arrest such people.
