NNL deploys Secret Assessors to Match Venues

As the 2012/13 season of the Nigerian National League (NNL) reaches the climax today, the NNL board has insisted on ensuring that theseason closes without any hitch.

After much delay occasioned by pending cases which have been sorted out, the final round of matches to conclude the season would be decided at various venues this afternoon.
Chairman of the NNL board, chief Emeka Inyama said during the week that the board had put in place every necessary measure to make sure that the last games were devoid of any rancour.

Among the steps taken to avert crisis is that all the matches would be played simultaneously, while the matches would be handled by premier league referees.

In addition, secret assessors to monitor activities of the club officials, players, coaches and their supporters as well as the match officials would be deployed to all the match venues. Inyama, a board member of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), said those steps would be taken in order to forestall any form of match fixing in both divisions A and B, particularly were battles for promotion and survival from relegation would be decided.

Meanwhile, Inyama has commended all the teams for displaying high sense of discipline throughout the season, stressing that the 2012/13 season would go down in history as one of the most successful season in recent time.
He added that the outgoing season witnessed the highest number of away victories without any crowd violence.
The 2012/13 season is ending in a competitive way as tickets for promotion and survival from relegation would be decided after the final whistles at various centres

With the exception of GIWA FC of Jos, who have sealed promotion ticket in Group A, the second ticket is till up for grabs among three clubs, while in Group B, the contest is still open even though teams like Abia
Warriors and Crown FC are at vantage positions to pick the tickets ahead of other teams with outside chances.  Same thing goes for the back benchers where the number of teams to be demoted would be completed at the end of hostilities today.
