Governor
Isa Yuguda of Bauchi State said on Thursday that the National Executive
Committee (NEC) of the meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was a huge
success and did not last long because all was now well with the party.
Speaking
to State House Correspondents, he said he met with President Goodluck Jonathan
in company of his Gombe State counter part, Ibrahim Dankwambo, after the PDP
NEC meeting.
Yuguda said as brief as the meeting was, it was short because it was convened specifically to ratify the date for the forthcoming mini- convention of the party taking place in the Southwest next weekend.
Noting
that the meeting was brief indicating that all was now well with major
stakeholders in the party, Yuguda said, "The meeting went on very well,
very short and straight to the point. It was just for the
ratification of the date for the convention, that was all".
On what
to expect at the party, the governor said, "A lot of goodies. People were
disturbed that it lasted for only 15 minutes? It shows that the family is
together and that everybody is working together. Is this the sign of good
things to come?Oh, yes, we are now happy with one another. The family is
together and If there was a problem, we would have stayed longer to
solve it."
He also
assured that the crisis in the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) was being resolved
and that the body was regaining its bearing adding that they will storm the
villa for the regular National Economic Council meeting.
