Trade Expo .
In a bid to enhance economic
and cultural integration between Nigeria and Indonesia, over 500 Nigerian business
men and women are expected to utilize the opportunity of participating in 28th
annual Indonesia Trade expo to establish trade relationship with over 600 companies that
will participate in the programme slated for
October 16 – 20 October 2013 .
TEI is an annual B to B export product exhibition organized
by the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia in cooperation with the
Ministry of industry and Indonesian
Investment coordinating Board to encourage business and trading activities in a varieties of
product and services expanding business networks and exchange the unexploited
and untapped business potentials that exist in the republic of Indonesia
The Director of
Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre ITPC Mr. Tobing Pontas
while briefing newsmen in
Lagos said the expo is
aim at promoting quality Indonesian-made product and services to the
Global market to better developed business and investment networking and to
exchange potentials and opportunities
especially for those wanting to go into partnership and invest in
Indonesia’s industrial sector in the face of increased contest and uncertainly
in the international economy.
He also disclosed
that “ Last year, Nigeria top the chart of highest attendant of 27.27%,
with over 200 business men and women in attendance at the expo but this year
our target is 500 selected business participant s from Nigeria”
He added further that
“ the year 2013 theme which is “ Trade
with remarkable Indonesia” is appropriate because it showcase that the republic
of Indonesia has a lot of remarkable selection of product and services to
offer in virtually all sector which
include Agriculture, Mining furniture, textiles and fabric, chemical product,
automobile, electronics, air craft and component, ammunition telecommunications and others.
H e also maintained that Visitors will have the
opportunities of meeting and interacting with leading Indonesian manufacturers, wholesalers and
operated of related business in nearly all the industrial sector in
the country.
Speaking on the standard of Indonesia product, Mr Tobing explained
that Indonesia companies do not
compromise standard as there are laws
and regulatory agencies that guide their
activities and production “ Unlike product
from some Asian countries any
product from Indonesia must meet standard requirement as the government of Indonesia do
not tolerate substandard product that is
why it put n place a Standard National
Indonesia, SNI a regulatory agency that
ensure product are of world
standard and any who dare to disobey will be arrested and
prosecuted and his company closed “ he said
Mr Tobing while
speaking on the success of the relationship between Nigeria and Indonesia said
more than 12 indonesian’s
companies have invested in Nigeria while many Nigerians have also been trading with their country expressing optimism that more companies are expected to come with huge investment
into Nigeria before the end of this year.
Some of the Nigerian
businessmen who attested to the benefit of trading with Indonesia explained that it is much more profitable than any other Asian or European countries.
Mr Richard Ibru , the manager of Hadibru Nigeria Limited said who import Kukubima energy drink and others from Indonesia said “ doing business with Indonesia have a lot of benefit , when i first started some of my colleague in the business who do not see any reason in it are now interested in doing business with Indonesia, i do trade with European and American company but i can confidently tell you tht doing business with Indonesia has a whole lot of differences apart from the quality of the products marketing them is also easy because they meet up with the market price and of nutritional value than product from any other countries”
Also Mr Onabrakpeya Ejiro of Isorogun Arts of
African Origin is of the notion that there is a semblances in the weater
condition of Indonesia and Nigeria and
that the people are accommodating and ready to do business with anybody that is open and honest,” during the last expo i visited some places
and make an arrangement for
cultural exchange programme between them
and us here , the process is still on, that will also enhance
trading activities between the two countries.
Also Mrs Caroline Benson of
Nutri Food and Beverages which market
Nutri- C flavoured drink said “
Indonesian products are good product
because of their nutritional value and
standard, trading with Indonesia is a good thing and i want to encourage
all Nigerian business class to try and
do business with the country.
The National
President of Guild of Tourism Journalist Comrade Wale Ojo Lanre who attended
the year 2012 expo said the country is a good place where varieties can be
acquire with ease, he place emphasis on the religious harmony and the peaceful
co existent between all the tribes in the land as an added advantage to
thriving business opportunities in the land .
