THE leadership of All Peoples Congress (APC) in Ward 1 of Owode, Yewa
South of Ogun State, on Thursday, reaffirmed that Honourable Abiodun
Akinlade, a member of the House of Representatives, representing the
area remained suspended indefinitely.
The party restated its
stand in a statement issued and signed by its chairman, Mr Afolayan
Dauda and the secretary, Idowu Azeez , a copy of which was made
available to the Nigerian Tribune, saying that its attention had been
drawn to a recent publication in a national daily (not the Nigerian
Tribune) about the statement credited to Akinlade that he was in Action
Congress of Nigeria (ACN) now APC.
The party, while listing the
alleged offences of Akinlade to warrant his suspension, accused him of
failure to attend any of the ward, local or state meeting since he
joined the defunct ACN in the last two and a half years
The
lawmaker was also accused of not making any impact in law-making process
at the National Assembly, including failure to attract federal presence
to his federal constituency of Yewa South and Ipokia of Ogun State.
The
party insisted that the suspension placed on Akinlade stayed whether
the platform was ACN or APC, adding that “ACN or APC, your suspension
stays.”
