Reformed acn meets in Oyo, says apc will liberate Nigeria


Reformed Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), a group formed by the decampees of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State during the 2011 general elections, at the end of their meeting on Wednesday called on Nigerians to support the newly registered All Progressive Congress (APC) as it is a party that will liberate Nigeria.

The meeting had in attendance  Alhaji Alli Oyedeji Dodo, Senator Ayo Adeseun (Senator Oyo Central Senatorial District and Chairman Senate Committee on Capital Market), Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli (Chairman, Odua Investment Limited), Honourable Adegbenjo, Honourable Kamil Akinlabi (Honourable Member, Oyo Federal Constituency at the House of Representative), Honourable Mufu Ogunremi (Former House of Representative member), Chief Yemi Aderibigbe (Special Adviser to Governor Ajimobi on Transport and Former Executive Chairman, Akinyele Local Government), Barrister Sumbo Owolabi (Commissioner for Water Resources), Honourable Lanre Agoro (Former House of Representative member), Alhaji Santana, Alhaji Yinus Akintunde (Former Commissioner for Works and Transport), political office holders and board members of government agencies and parastatals and representatives from  the 33 local government of Oyo State.

Speaking at the meeting, Senator Ayoade Adeseun gave an assurance that APC has come to stay as the viable alternative to PDP led Federal Government which has failed to take the nation out of the woods according to the slogan of the new party APC, which is, changing the phase of governance for better in Nigeria, adding that the party will take Nigeria to the expected heights.

He also commended the Abiola Ajimobi ACN-led government in the state in the area of peace and security, which has since returned to the state since assumption of power, the sanitation and beautification of the environment, dualisation going on in all the major cities of Oyo State, Youth empowerment, Infrastructural development and other achievements of Ajimobi-led administration.

The Chairman of Oodua Investment Limited, Barrister Sharafa Alli also appealled to all members to stay connected as APC is the party that will bring an overwhelming succor to the plight and suffering of the masses, as the acronym “Change” will reflect in all the spheres of governance. Alli said, adding that “APC is our party and we shall all work together to bring victory on all sides from the Federal down to the Local level”.

Similarly, Honourable Kamil Akinlabi in his own address said the  meeting  is designed to bring all ACN reform members closer to the government and commended Senator Abiola Ajimobi-led administration, saying “this government is on track and has shown that development is possible”.

Some speakers who complained  the negligence from the government and political leaders in ACN  immediately after the election also called for a re-adjustment of the existing political arrangement  to accommodate members of the reformed group in such a way that they will benefit

The presiding officer and the leader of the group Alhaji Dodo and Senator Adeseun however appealed to the aggrieved members to stay calm and show more commitment and promised that necessary steps will be taken to correct the anomalies complained with an assurance that the new arrangement with APC will be a distant one from that that was hurriedly done in preparation for 2011 general election.

They were however directed  members of the reformed group to participate in APC congresses from the ward to Local Government to State levels in the newly formed APC to really show that they are deeply committed to the course of change.
