Gov. Danbaba Suntai of Taraba has dissolved the state executive
council and appointed a new Secretary to the State Government (SSG), and a new
Chief of Staff, Government House.
Mr Silvanus Giwa, Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and
Publicity to the governor announced the dissolution and new appointments at a
news conference on Wednesday in Jalingo.
He named the outgoing Commissioner for Justice, Mr Timothy Kataps as the
news SSG and Alhaji Aminu Jika as the new Chief of Staff, adding that the
appointment were with immediate effect.
Giwa, who said that he was speaking on the orders of Suntai, said all
Commissioners and Special Advisers had been relived of their appointments.
He passed
the governor's message appreciation to the out-going Commissioners and Special
Advisers for their services to the state, and wished them well in their future
endeavours.

recalls that the State House of Assembly had on Tuesday, announced that the
Acting Governor, Alhaji Garba Umar, would continue to act in that capacity
until Suntai was able to appear before the lawmakers to confirm that the
transmitted letter to the House was genuine. (NAN)
